I wish the tip of this pencil
were a black hole
sucking my desk clean
of bills and ashes
and papers overflowing
on the bib of carpet.

Good Fridays I imagine
Jesus the Black Hole
sucking every stray hair
from history's throw rug
(where Mephistopheles slept)
through God's star-vise,
an event horizon so blessed
Stephen Hawking danced.
