The Origami Universe

by Lorraine Schein

Fold the universe on unseen lines
Along a glistening crease of stars:
The cosmos, crimped along its three dimensions,
Its galaxies and spirals,
By skillful hands
Into a 4-D paper form,
The shape of space-time.

Pull out the hidden moons
Tucked in its corners
To rise, paper-white, over some new planet.
