Observing the Sky

by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe

I am a night sportsman,
trained
by the light races
of the meteors,
by the competitions
of the stars
and deep sky objects
in giving light,
and by the performances
of the moon, planets
and comets
in reflecting light.

If I resist till the morning,
I receive a heavenly gold medal:
the sunrise!
