Star trails, by Zach KowlaczykI was disturbed
by the sudden silence,
looked up to see
a mute uproar of stars.

I saw the blink
of burgled light,
the flash of
a thief running.

Then came
the glittery cops
of the night's late hours
in vain pursuit

while the moon rays
palely pointed
he went this way
that way.

It was dawn
before I arrived on the scene,
examined the wide blue rooms
of looted sky.
