Spiral Galaxy M81

Still spinning,
the inner gasses blue-shift.
Marker of a decaying orbit

Fireflies flicker to earth
a pale red memory
like ashes left behind.

Jo Gerrard is a graduate from California Lutheran University, having received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Multimedia in 2003. Her writing and editing experience includes the Fullerton College Torch Magazine and a story published in The Harrow in 1998.
