Vasile Micu served as technical vice-president of the Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy-SARM between 1993 and 1997. Some of his photos received high appreciations from the European Halo Project and Britain’s Society for Popular Astronomy. In 1996 he was the 5th in the world top of the meteor observers communicated by the International Meteor Organization. For his astro-photo-poem "Hale-Bopp", he received an award at SARM’s Cosmopoetry Festival 1997.
